Windows 8 - Are you upgrading to it?

It worked. The problem with a lot of operating systems today is there all little changes, design and stuff. There's some nice features but a lot are available with other programs - Lots of programs are still made xp compatible which is why i stayed with it for so long and if my disc hadn't broke may still have had it (got 7 when I was a student so I got it cheap). Obviously windows 7 is young so I don't want them to just ignore it but I don't find windows 8 has any big things feature wise that I can't do on 7

I wouldn't expect any modern operating system to work to be honest. Yeah XP worked but I find 7 just a hell of a lot better in terms of performance and features. I'm not suggesting anyone to upgrade to Windows 8 straight away from 7 but if people are still using XP then It's time to think about upgrading.

I'm having to use Vista right this minute until my new PSU comes tomorrow, my god. It's making me miss Windows 7 a lot. Especially for the snap feature which I use so much.

Looking at some random laptops with windows 8 it's not that much really. There are laptops out there for £350 with Windows 8. I need to pick a laptop though and that is hard with my knowledge :-) Will have to make a thread asking for suggestions or something so I get something decent.

Well when Windows 7 came out I found (maybe I was just looking in the wrong place) that it was cheaper to find a laptop with XP with similar specs to one of W7.

yep just depends on what you need it for, gaming or just college etc.
