    Default Windows 8 - Are you upgrading to it?

    Next week Windows 8 will be released to the public and you can pre-order a copy now. I was wondering how many people are going to upgrade to it?

    Links to where you can pre-order:

    Nope. Metro is only good for tablets. If there was an option to disable it then I might as there are a lot of improvements

    OkProbably, it's 14.99 for me because I bought a windows 7 PC recently, don't know how to get the update though! Might install it on my laptop and see if I like it, don't want it any slower. Does Windows 8 have the Windows 7 desktop? What should I do and are you upgrading? @xxMATTGxx;

    I would assume you will need to go and look the computer manufacturers website to see if they mention about that Windows 8 offer since you got a new Windows 7 PC. In terms of it having the desktop, yeah it has it.

    Not at the moment but maybe in the not so distant future. Windows 8 doesn't really do anything I cannot already do on Windows 7.

    I tried it for about a month, so I gave it a fair chance, but all those small things that annoyed me with it just began to add up and piss me off. I switched back to 7 last week and haven't looked back since.
