Well, yes, but in this case it's backfired because normally I'd -Rep him for that and it would be a valid reason to do so

I think if compromise is what's needed then simply revert to the old system but change it to 400 rep per RP, that way it effectively halves most peoples' rep, hence putting them at ease about massive rep powers but also allowing the users to be happy about it all.
