what is everyone talking about. i see no bots
hi
Firstly just so I can state my opinion - I don't think that it is really a pain. It seems to be fine to me and isn't really "spamming" at all. If you don't wish to read the news threads posted by the bot then don't - it is as simple as that.I don't understand why it would cause that much of an issue or an inconvenience or exactly why it would need its own sub forum.
In reply to your point Olleh the idea is that some people who like to use the UK news and rumors forum may not know about the news we provide on the site. Additionally people often find it more convieneint to get news from the UK news and rumours forum. The bot means that people can easily read what news our news reporters are posting without having to visit the site if they do now want to. I don't see what the big deal is about it. As has been said - if you don't like the threads then just ignore them.
Currently it looks like a good featuer to be added. If of course a lot of people dislike it we could consider moving it into a subforum or looking at alternative measures but really it seems the complains in minorities of users and I don't see any reason why those users cannot ignore the bot. It doesn't seem to have been spamming the section to me?
NotedHonestly I think the more redeeming part is things that get exclusively scouted out by the news team, like DIY Furni. However the articles themselves can be summaries. Admittedly, it is a bit confusing when there are already threads about the news event
Although in all honesty, two or three reports a day won't really kill you.
Whoa, there is something going on up there!!!I disagree with what the news team is defending here. Sure, you want to put the news which your reporters publish onto the forum website so that some people will read it on the site. Thats all fine and fair, but when that RSS feed becomes a spambot of that forum, it takes away the fact that I, and probably many other News Reporters, got a job in the News Team because they posted so much news & so quickly in the forum.
How can you employ people from the forum if your bots doing it for you? That's just one reason of why you should remove it, the other reason is that people will be driven away from the Habbo UK News & Rumours Forum because the fun of posting first for news has gone now, you've destroyed that little game which has made that forum popular for quite some time now. It's like neutralising a culture of people who like to be the first to post.
If you wanna show off your news, put it in a subforum or create a link to the Habbox News Page so that people don't have to look at a forum full of botspam.![]()
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

Put a header at the top of the page telling people to view Habbox.com for official news or something lol... i don't see why this bot was implemented anyway, it's not as if the forum had anything wrong with it.
Seeing as the section is called Habbo News and rumors I think the bot is a good idea.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
That's an excellent idea, I'm either blind or never noticed a link to the main site! I shall assume I'm blind because it's never stood out to me.

It's the quality of your posts that count, not the quantity!
Dignity does not consist in possessing honours, but in deserving them.
I agree with that yes. Not sure why that was never thought of. I see no reason to get rid of the bot but adding a link is a good idea.![]()
Actually I found one tiny link, bottom right of forumHardly visible even to someone like myself who has visited the forum for years. The fact that the site links to forum and to the radio quite easily, surely the reverse should be apparent here. A good link at the top or even the bottom which is clearly visible on the forum highlighting news and rare values would certainly increase the number of views, and then maybe it wouldn't of been necessary to have a bot
so I will have to disagree with you on the bot. Links from the forum to the site should of been tried first

Tbh, I've only seen it once and it didn't bother me in the slightest.
Just took a look now - it is, literally, spamming the place with news. I think part of the fun for people posting there and for me a while ago was to be the first to post it, then after that the first to reply, and stuff. Now that there's just the news there, people could easily read that off of Hx or Habbo itself.
A nice thing though as you said is that it digs up things like the DIY furni - maybe the RSS feeds should be monitored by senior news staff members and only approved to be posted if they're not daily news. I don't know if that's possible but hey. But yeh, if HxF is giving RSS feeds and the public's threads, I don't see the point of the news department. Leaving it as just forum users and the news department would be the best option in my opinion.
