It's interesting though that none of them were saying how great it was they could have 50 Rep Power so they could help out newer members and how they hoped it would be permanent.
50 does seem to be a bit too high to be honest, frankly if I was a new member and I saw that all the people saying Hello to me had a rep power of 50, I'd probably just feel dwarfed by it and give up on rep right there!
I think people are forgetting what "Reputation" really is, essentially how high it is, is your "Reputation" on the forum like it or not. If you go on the "Members List" and then list members by the amount of Reputation they have, the most respected, influential, helpful and people with the all around "best" reputations are towards the top of this list.
If a new member is making a decent post, everyone will rep it as per usual. I don't look at who it is when I rep someone, I just look at the quality of the post and I'm sure everyone else is no different. There's no need for admins reputation to be adjusted to essentially "fake" the reputation of newbies.
