Last year, a super moderator was able to do all the jobs on their own. They had more responsibilies. We had to create a user note and PM the user - which takes longer than infracting users.

So if one super moderator could do it all on their own last year, why cant six super moderators do it? Their job should be easier?

Then why didnt you reverse it or reply to my PM which I sent to you? That PM quoted Tash. where she said it was a joke and I said it was a 6 month old post?

On a more serious note, from what I've seen so far the Super Moderator team works really hard and I don't see any problems with how it's going. Come next week, I suspect it will be all systems as normal
Normal Moderating is easy, when I was one awhile back it wasn't a challenge, so you'll do fine. Just don't get the forum to hate you, be a nice mod.

I'm not naming any names, but some of the Smods should not be in the position they are after like 2 months of normal moderation anyway, people argue that "But they have worked hard n all", the only reason they were hired is because of the rush to fill Catszy's etc spots, I'm sure there would be a much more.. organised? expierienced? team of moderators. But w/e my view.

They only need a maximum of 2-3 super moderators. They need normal moderators and quiet a lot of them. They need to pick the very best of the moderators to be promoted to super moderator. Just because a super mod leaves/gets fired, doesnt mean they have to promote someone .. even if they are rubbish.
Suppose all the super mods resign now - does that mean they would just promote every single mod?

I think these 3 should be the only super mods:

    micky.blue.eyes
    Mr.Sam
    Nick-

Those three are by far the best smods.

Also, smods need to think before they act. I have been infractioned twice for something which was obviously a joke.

I just got infractioned for going "DAVE SCAMMED ME 200 DINOS I DNT HAVE A LIFE. (Btw i am joking)"

The post didn't say what you just quoted...
    I did state
"Please do not accuse someone of scamming - even if it is a joke."
if it is a joke you still accused someone and it will put doubt in peoples mind who fail to see it as a joke..

Well TBF the role has changed and Smods are now expected to do a lot of moderating as there are fewer mods. Also there is an increase in paper work -User notes are used more frequently for other things and an infraction can take as long as a pm template and user note - I did use this system. Also because of fewer mods the post reports are more and they have other duties such as checking infractions and infraction complaints. The problem doesn't lie with the people it lies with the training/supervision and possibly making some Smods without the necessary experience. This is something I have been saying for the past few months. A Mod/Smod is appointed and basically just left to get on with it so mistakes are going to occur. When I was appointed I had a great deal of help from Baving and Seacat who kept a close eye on me until they thought I was okay.

The idea in essence is quite a good one as it makes the moderation team a lot more flexible and on hand in case of spammers etc. Where this falls down in my opinion is that security could be compromised and too many inexperienced hands in the banning/caution pot without the necessary training. Also I do not think inexperienced Smods should deal with infraction complaints - they were gradually introduced to this when I was there.

Just hire some decent good moderators.
Have 3 great super mods (the 3 I mentioned above). There will be no problems.

Its stupid hiring un-experienced and brainless super mods. (that isnt aimed at any smods in particular so i dont deserve a infraction).
