I understand what you are saying but its not how many other see it. I have seen plenty of scenarios where someone says "you noob, thats not how to do it" or something then ends up with the other person responding with swearing or something rude. If the person said "you salt seaman, thats how to do it" the response would be "lol" don't you think?

The word noob is a weird one because you are saying the person is at the bottom/the start of something. Thats like saying you are a peasant (the bottom of the human hierachy in the olden days). If someone said "you peasant" that is quite rude.

True, MAD. There are a few sides to this, I think.

The word noob does get people worked up, because it's deemed offencive and rude by moderators (you receive an infraction for saying it like "go away noob"). If you were not infracted for saying "noob" then people would say it and the person being called a noob would think nothing of it. It's like sheep, one person finds it offencive everybody does. You're right though, somebody will say "you noob" and the other person will say "oh f off!" or something.

Then the one swearing should be in trouble, because noob is harmless and is actually a correct and polite way to say "you're new to this" without seeming too discriminate.

I agree with you in places but "noob" is really annoying.

I got a warming for avoiding the filter, by saying somthing thats not actually in the filter (actually copy and pasting an error message), which was clevery copied word for word in the PM, meaing the oh so clever *cough* mod had said the same thing back...

When i pointed it out they took the oh so proffessional option of ignoreing my PM

The forum needs to do something about members who are obviously a nusiance. Such as that dawsy guy, in all his threads users are goin mad at him yet the thread just gets locked and the users get there posts edit. He should just be deleted as he is clearly a pain and disliked so does nothing for the forum.

If these pains were deleted the members wouldnt make threads and posts having a go at them so they all wouldnt get in trouble and they would all live happliy ever after.

We do not (often) reply to the replies about infractions in PM. There is a specific thread for the discussion of infractions, so that everyone can see what is being said, and not just the SMod/Mod in question.
