Wasn't meant to be an attack on Jade Goody, was more of an observation on how peoples' opinions on celebrities appear to change so quickly when an illness is involved, and how some people will adapt their views to fit in or impress people.

I'm sorry for misconstruing what you said. It was ambiguous and I took a different meaning than the one you intended.

I still don't think anyone in the thread is trying to impress anyone – except James!, who is trying to impress his own ego and/or treat this as a mating call for a rebellious girlfriend.

Personally i feel so sorry 4 Jade Goody and her family. Her children are so young. People may not like her because of the 'racial conflict' that she got into in celebrity big brother however she didn't deserve to have cancer which has left her with months left to live. However she has been unfortunate to get a bad case of cancer.

A Racial argument and cancer is no where comparable.

She does care a lot about people as she has done a lot of charity work.

I just hope her and her family enjoy the time they ahve left with each other >;[

At the same time though I read your post and it did seem unreasonable.

Even if some of the people who I know (and really dislike because they are awful people) were ill, I would not be indifferent to it because of that. Nobody deserves to get cancer and nobody deserves to die. Just because I do feel for them now because of it doesnt mean im doing it for brownie points... I just dont agree that anyone deserves death.

My opinion on her before wasn't of a racist I just thought of her as another person because I dont watch big brother. I can be sorry for her without trying to "impress people".

I think I could mention a few who do.

While you may claim to care, I highly doubt you spare a thought for her before or after you've said the words "Awful news". If you do, then you're one of a small amount of people.
