people are being contradictative. People are sayingthat 11 year olds use this website, and then saying it would be immature to have it unfiltered and that we have to act proffesional. Makes complete sense

In hindsight I probs said a filter removal option would be a good idea, but looking at what everyones said, I can see it'd be a bad one.

Still not dropping the abbreviations Oh and Oli if you read this, can you lift my caution now bbs? :]

It would be immature on our part and we as in Habbox Management have to remain professional in our choices. But of course this website is aimed at a younger generation, Im not saying they cant be immature. With that you have to remain within the rules which I think everyone is capable of. I see a lot of immature posts, and rightly so. They can stick within the rules. So I don't think its much of a contradiction, its just that these words are being applied to two different sets of people, one being Habbox Management, the other being the users.

Theres really no need for Gender Forums or an 18+ forum. If anything it makes everything look more messy and way more immature, having to discriminate between genders and age. Its not exactly a professional outlook on how to solve an issue, which isn't really an issue at all. It just arises out of people wanting to swear for whatever reason they feel they need to.
messier than the 655564 forums we have already? or the 654656 subforums that separate everything?

On Habbo it's there for 30 seconds, it's completely different. The Habbo filter is still in place on the guestbooks/forums, just not on the client
If you've been on habbo in the last 8 months you'd see the huge chat history feature which appears in every room allowing you to look back on convos.

I don't really think we need to copy their filtering system anyway.

Last week a few select abreviations were unfiltered/allowed, and then people started complaining that others should be allowed too, and it's that which makes it impossible to get to a happy medium, therefore it was decided that they would be refiltered to stop people moaning.

As others have said, the posts on the forum are viewed by a LOT more people than in a Habbo room, and will be present for an extremely long time. It lowers the tone considerably, and I don't really see why people need to see the swearing when the *****'s do the job for them of filtering it.
Whoever done the filter was stupid though, as they unfiltered like "omfg" but you couldn't say "wtf", if you're going to be sensible and remove abbreviations from the filter don't be stupid and do stuff like that, neither can be used to offend someone so i see no reason why it needs to be filtered

    MY INPUT TIME!!!!!

I fink HxF shouldnt be thinking about catering for the younger generation and who they want, because lets be srs noaw. We havent had a load of new members stick around and the ones that do, probaly arent very young anyway. I was actually surprised to see a thread about someone in primary school.

Anyway, the point im trying to get to it, dont cater for the people who you 'want' to have, coz well they might just not come. Should be listening to the huge amount of people you've got!
