    Lightbulb HELP - GCSE SCIENCE EARTH MATERIALS

    Hi

    I'm in desprate need of help, can someone please tell me the meanings of:
    • Fractional Distillation of Crude oil.
    • Naphtha
    • Alkane
    • Alkene (not the same as above, if u thought take a closer look lol)
    • Polymer
    • Monomer
    • Polymerisation
    • Addition Polymerisation.
    Help me plezzzzzzzzzzzz!

    Fractional Distillation of Crude oil - The process where oil is heated to different temperatures to extract molecules of the same size
    Naphtha - A substance like petrol. Distilled from Crude Oil
    Alkane - A chain of hydrocarbons. Diagram:

    Alkene - A chain of Hydrocarbons with double bonds making it more unstable than Alkanes. Diagram.

    Polymer - A long molecule made up of a chain of smaller, simpler molecules.
    Monomer - A molecule that can combine with others to form a polymer.
    Polymerisation - The bonding of two or more monomers to form a polymer.
    Addition Polymerisation. - A polymerisation Technique where monomer molecules add onto a growing polymer chain one at a time.
