Louis Walsh OFFICIALLY Quit the X-FACTOR:
LOUIS Walsh yesterday sensationally quit telly’s X Factor.
He walked after fellow judge Simon Cowell called him “an idiot” in Monday’s Sun.
The music mogul was already raging at Sharon Osbourne for tossing water on him on Saturday’s show.
Judge Sharon splashed out with three glasses after Louis made disparaging remarks about her hubby Ozzy. Scornful Simon, 46, also slated Westlife founder Louis on ITV1’s This Morning on Monday for being “bland”.
Angry Louis, 52, said last night: “I’ve been totally humiliated and undermined by both of them. This has caused me nothing but stress.
“The final straw was Sharon with the water and being booed by the audience and then Simon Cowell saying I was an idiot and stupid.
“I’ve had enough. I’m going back to Dublin. I’m not putting up with it any more.”
A show insider said: “It really annoyed Louis when Simon said he was bland.
“Then he got The Sun and read Simon’s comments about him being an idiot and tremendously stupid. “Louis flipped. He thinks Simon is bullying him. He’s really upset. But he’s being childish. He’s just thrown his toys out of the pram.”
On Monday Simon joked he was considering replacing Louis but couldn’t find anyone boring enough. But last night he begged the Irishman to STAY on the show.
Simon said: “I’ve been called all sorts of things but taken it in the spirit it was meant.
“I’ve known Louis for years. I know what a huge success he’s been.
“If I offended him I apologise. We want him back.”
Even Sharon called for Louis to return.
She said: “I am shocked and saddened. I like and respect Louis and I hope he changes his decision.” Louis was slated for kicking off Maria Lawson in favour of The Conway Sisters.
The Sun revealed he was friends with the Irish group before the show.
X Factor chiefs were last night holding crisis talks with Louis — who is mentoring contestant Shayne Ward — in a bid to get him back.
Louis has been on the show since the first series last year. In February he and Sharon signed new £375,000 contracts for the next two series.
