Snow White biting the apple is more of the Brothers' Grimm using dramatic irony; the reader knows she shouldn't bite the apple because it was poisened by the Queen, but she doesn't. It also emphasises her naiveté, as she was told not to answer the door, but the Queen managed to persuade her to do both this and to take the apple.
