You can be anyone to be able to face him.
You just need to find a guide that tells every story line and do the right things to face him.
I suggest www.gamefaqs.com for good guides.

i dont know about who you have to be but i think its anyone on sd roster because on the old games its anyone and i dont like sd 2006 couple of reasons:

Lol, Umm I was my personal CAW, I had the Eddie Storyline ect, then thought the undertaker n won his urn, if any of u guys got any questions about this cause i got it full completed, all trophies, all challenges, all legends ect,
