Christmas Eve brings a chill wind to Larkhall and sees the arrival of a strange new inmate, who turns up unexpectedly as the staff are preparing for an impending blizzard. Julie S is delighted by the return of Julie J, though her friend is a shadow of her former self, unable to shake the belief that the ghost of Jim Fenner is lurking around the landings of G-Wing. As Governor Joy Masterton gets staff and inmates into the spirit of the season, a power cut strikes, plunging everyone into darkness. The prisoners and guardss panic when the generator fails to start up - though newcomer Miranda seems rather at home in the dark. Kika Mirylees, Nicola Redmond and Ellie Haddington star in the first Christmas special of the prison drama, which should please fans who can't wait for the new series, due to begin next June.
