Battery life is pathetic... I'd take my CD player any day of the week. = )

iPod Shuffle is cheapest, but that's rubbish, then the Nano, breaks too easy. I think the Mini is great [what I've got] but don't bother getting one unless you can afford the 20GB one or the 30GB video.

The Shuffle is the cheapest, but also the most useless.
The Nano scratches easily and it's not very durable.
The iPod Video is awesome and so are the 4th-Gen Click-Wheel models which are still being sold in some places.
The battery life lasts you around 12-16 hours depending on how much time you spend switching in between songs. The majority of all new handheld devices need to access their data and that drains some energy. Battery life when watching videos could be way better, lol. I like mine, but don't like the fact it's not just simply USB plug and play. You have to upload the songs to itunes and all that. It's annoying if you're trying to do it in a couple of minutes.
