Make things transparent without photoshop

This only works if you have a Windows OS, open Microsoft photo editor; if you can't find it use search (start>search).
Now open the image you want to make transparent and click the transparent logo which is right next to the icon that looks like a sun (at the top) then click the colour you want to make transparent then save the file as a .GIF
