oki have this problem some times. it can be for a number of reasons.
    1) you have the mic on mute (solved by switch the lil button)
    2) you have turned your mic off by mistake (solved by going into your family settings and turning it back on)
    3) the person you are talking to has the voloume turned down (sovled by sendin them a message)
4)your have set your mic volume to low (solved by going into your family settings and turning it up)
    5) your mic if bust (solved by popping down the shop and buyin a new or if you have the time aka about a week then call tech support up and they will send you one for free)
6.(most common) lagging (solved by turning your 360 off and signing back in again)

hope these helped if you have any trouble or need any help just F/r me: xXxMATTxXx
