New Project...

I was wondering what to do next on my journey through webdesigning. I sat playing guitar stuck. Then it hit me.

Im thinking of doing a new site where unsigned bands can post some of their tracks. With each track we'll have a band profile, link to their site and stuff like that. Each month the staff will pick 5-10 bands and we will send out emails encouriging record companies to listen to them.

I think this is a project worth putting a lot of effort into but with a lot of Tests coming up (Tests because im only 12) I wouldn't be able to do it all myself.

Im needing oppinions from many people to see if they think its worth spending any money on. In the end if the idea takes off we could begin to sell merchandise and tracks if any of the bands get signed and give us a few tracks.

Does anyone actually think this would be succesful? Im not bothered about making money im in it for the music.

Also I have just finished a quick thing for it. The ad campaign would probablly be based around this idea.

Itsa good idea but the ad wouldnt be in visitor font just have a standard background and some verdana big text sharp and itll look pro

Yes its a good idea, if you dont use it I may do so

Before you start you will need to...

- Research (Other sites like this)
- Make sure your coding skills are upto scratch
OR
- Get friends to help you
OR
- Pay someone to code it for you
- Also you will need to work out ways of making money (server fees will set you back for uploading MP3 files)

Also check the server lets you upload .mp3 files since many have started not to.. also love the chili's in the ad =]

Im sorting all this out as we speak. A band I know called 'The Fool' is already certain they will put a few tracks on the site and this may sound BS but my gran knows Tommy Simpson's Gran. Tommy Simpson is the keyboard player in Snow Patrol so there is a chance it will be endorsed by Snow Patrol.
