Default Is txt spk destroyn da Eng Lang?

(Thread title meant to be humorous, it's probably not, oh well.)

Well, I had to go to Birmingham City Centre Library and make a speech infront of around 450 people on total of why text speak is ruining the English language.

I would like to get your point of views on this.

I just hate it because it's so hard to read.

Even when I text, I use proper English.

It's ok to use if you're sending a text message because somtimes words are to big to fit in. But it's not ok to write like that on a forum or any where eles.
