I downloaded CounterStrike Source through Steam, I was just wondering if it's only a demo version because I downloaded it through steam, because when I log on I get to choose my name, I don't have to put a password in so it's a waste of time because someone can choose your name and if you format your computer it's a waste of time. So I was just wondering if you buy the game do you have to create a username and password and not waste your time if you format your computer and your ranks go away. So is there anyway to save your score on the buy version?

Also, what's the difference between the downloaded and the buy version?

Where abouts on steam did you download it from?, im shure u have to pay for it before downloading :s

there are no ranks on counter strike source or 1.6. buying it retail mean u get a lovely dvd box whereas buying it via steam means that its just there.
