They would work extremely well as a nice personal site, the only improval that you could really make on the first one is add the hole-punched margin holes to make it a bit more realistic.

The second one is just as good for a personal site, although I prefer the first, a suggestion would be to seperate the navigation text a few more pixels away from each other and i'm not a big lover of the font for navigation.

I think the bottom background and positioning works best, but if the brownness of the tables on the bottom was in the paper format, would be perfect.
