A Habbo article on Young Carers
You might have seen the report in the Habbo Newsletter recently about Young Carers. Well, this article is here to tell you exactly what a young carer is. Some of us look after a parent, sibling or another relative or friend who is ill. Many of us receive little help in caring for someone when they’re ill for a prolonged amount of time. It can be a struggle which at times goes unnoticed by those around us or at least; unrealised.

Some of you may know someone who has a parent who is disabled or who suffers from mental health problems. This might mean they can’t take part in activities which the average person could. As a result, their child has to help more around the house. Even if you have one healthy parent and another who is unable to care for themselves, it can be an added strain to your daily life. Over the past few years I’ve looked on the situation in a positive way. If you are able to keep an up-beat personality and take whatever life brings your way, you will end up a stronger person.

You may not have realised but there are carers within the Habbo Community. We aren't "unusual" or in any way more "unique" than anyone in the rest of Habbo. We just have to deal with different challenges in the way we know how. If you’re a young carer, or if you think you are then why don’t you pop onto www.youngcarers.net as advertised on Habbo recently. It’s a community where you can come to meet people coping with similar challenges. You’ll also meet some Habbo friends along the way and realise that there are carers within the Habbo community that you never realised existed!
