Will the xbox 360 wireless controller work without batteries in as long as its Play and Charge lead it plugged into it?

I have just bought my xbox 360 Premium Pack with Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend and Burnout Revenge. I also got an extra wireless controller. But i dont want to use AA Batteries in them.

Im thinking about getting 1 Play and charge kit with an extra battery and then spending the rest on the Rockstar Table Tennis Game.

If you can think of a better way to spend the money (to do with xbox 360) Then please tell me.

I would also recommend buying Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter for 360 as its one of the 360's best made games

u get a lil pack thing with the play n charge kit which is just like a battery which charges up while u play...... if you have xbox live def get battlefield2 modern combat.
personally i got bored of table tennis after about 2 hours of playing, if your going to get a game get battlefield[only if u have xbox live] or call of duty 2 they will last u ages oh also try pgr3

Havent tried online yet as my 360 has been disconnected from a live internet connection since weve tried to set up the wireless adapter on the back
