Linkin Park's new album has been delayed until next year.

The follow up to 2003's 'Meteora' was due this year, but will not be released in 2006.

MC and vocalist Mike Shinoda said:"We're doing really well, but we just need a little more time.

"We have narrowed it down to 30-50 songs, and some of those are heavy, some are softer and some are in between. So far it has a different sound that I cannot describe. It sounds like it's older but not vintage.

"More organic in some spots, like just yesterday we recorded a song with no samples that is completely raw. Other songs are full of samples."

The band have named one song 'Qwerty', which was debuted on tour in Japan.

"I'm not sure if it'll make the album, but we liked the song enough to play it, " Shinoda told Billboard.

Fort Minor was just a side project while LP were taking a break.

They didn't split up, they had a row with Warner Bros over the money that they were getting, you may mean that

It wasn't over Money. In the Kerrang weekly, it said they Warner Brothers wanted to class them at Pop music, but Linkin Park didn't want to be classed Pop.

Might be wrong, but I'm kinda annoyed that it got delayed ;[
