vb Style Problems!

Hey, i am currently designing a style for my vb forum, however have come across a problem.

Below as shown in blue, I wanted it to have a black border.



However as shown in the next image, it also created border area where i didn't want it (as shown in red circles).



Is there another bit of css i can put in which will remove some of the border lines as shown.

I think the lines look good. Defining the buttons from one another.
