Default Is Violent Crime On the Increase?

For a while now the topic of violent crime has been discussed throughout the nation, are the rates of it going up or down?

I live in a small city, in the East Midlands. You don't hear of much crime around here. But in the last three months an old lady has been sexually assaulted in her own home. Three pensioners have been battered to death by youths with baseball bats and the Police have just recovered a body from a local estate.

Look at the news, Boy of 15 Shot Dead in manchester.

Two Held over a Toddlers Death

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/h...re/5329978.stm

Violent crime is clearly on the increase. It needs stopping.

SO WHY ARE THE POLICE TOO BUSY CATCHING SPEEDING MOTORISTS!

Its all Labour's fault, I agree - They care more about motorists parking on Yellow Lines.

Hmm I dunno maybe it isn't going up maybe there is just more media coverage? Not knowing how they work out the statistics I don't really have any idea if they are really going up or down.

One thing which really anoys me is mottorists who park in bus stops I think they should do them instead of doing speeding motorists. Then at least if I miss the bus because of some idiot parking in a bus stop, the next bus maybe a bit quicker!

    Regards, Danny.

I hate the way that as Teenagers we are stereotyped as yobs.

Criminals take our respect away from us.

I think it's shocking. Nottingham is very dodgy, I assume lots more violent crime (assaults), don't get reported either.

I think it is. I live in a Tiny village in West Sussex. And 3 months ago it was quite with basically no noise atall. And nothing going on. but now in the last 3 weeks 5 houses have all been robbed. So i personally think its going up.
