Default Your first car - Would you get a 2000-2002 car or 91-92 car?

If your starting off driving, and u had the money to buy a 2002 lets say Lexus. Would u? Or would u buy a 92 car? Theres this kid in my school says he has a 2006 Mustang GT and hes in high school >_> Im guessing this is his first car. what would u do?

I saved all my money for a first car, cos most people will have old cars, mine will look good, and it'd be nice to have a nice first car
    I'd get a new one.

Yeh its not a good thing to get a good, quite new looking car... for your first car you should get a kinda old one, because insurance would be cheaper...
And you are likely to have more crashes... dont want that to happen to your sparkling car do you? Where you wouldnt care with your old banger.

Why would you even get a Lexus? You want a more of a hatchback car like a corsa or fiesta as there easy to drive. Most of the cars your tought in are Corsa's, Micra's and Polo's. I'm thinking of getting a 2002 2nd hand Corsa or 1995 Golf.

I've a bit of money saved for a new car but as I passed my test 3 months ago I've kept my mums old fiesta and that will do me fine for now. No point getting a really flash car only to crash it. A known fact is that alot of people crash within the first year of passing their test which is basic common sense. I'm going to wait about a year before getting a better car. Another advantage with an old car like a fiesta is that the insurance is very low too.
