I think that's the price with VAT included, so it's no surprise there.

And The US price does not include the state tax which can range from 4%-20%. Region-free games aren't really an issue for me, but I feel sorry for people that import lots of games. :[

I don't remember Nintendo saying £170 would be the maximum price of the Wii. They said that in the US it would be less than $250, but that's about it.
