    Default Most Influencial musician(s) ever?

On kerrang the other day there was a top 100 most influencial musicians in rock history.

    And number 1, was AC/DC.

Now I like AC/DC in all, but I defiantly don't agree with that..

Personally I think bands like The Clash, The sex pistols or Queen are.

The Clash and Sex Pistols definitely, as my Dad always says: 'If bands like the Clash or Sex Pistols didn't exist, the bands you like now wouldn't be half as popular or wouldn't even be around'.

It depends on what 'influential' means. There's influential as in musically, and influential as in make you want to write music. Like Queen inspired a long list of bands to become musicians, but there arent many decent bands that took the sound of Queen. They only one I can think of is Muse, and thats only slightly.

Id say that R.E.M. is the most influential band ever.

I would say - Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Guns N' Roses. The first of their kind.

I dont think Guns N' Roses were the first 80's heavy metal band... actually they were one of the last.

One of the first successful ones, I meant.
They were one of the most successful in their time. I was watching GnR: Behind The Music yesterday and they were up there with the likes of Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.
