Dawn of The Dead - Scary or funny

When I first watched the film, I was PMSL. Some of the parts which are meant to make you scared were so badly done, I couldn't help but laugh. Why did they make Shaun of the Dead? This movie is funny enough, it doesn't need a spoof What did you guys think? *attaches poll*
