They are from 'newb' members, they don't really do anything to your rep, they don't add or take away any points.

Actually i think thats blue but I could be wrong. What he means is members that are still newbie in rank (The rank before Junior Member)
Also I think grey reps are when people have given out their allotted reps for the month. Im not sure but I think theres a set limit and once u surpass that limit the reps are greyIt costs nothing to be a good friend.
