They lock them so no one bumps them, its in one of the stickied threads I think.

'From now on introductions that are more than 2-3 days will be closed to stop posts being made to old introductions thus allowing our members to welcome the new ones!'

I guess it counts for the leaving section aswell.

I don't really think that rule is good.. for example if someone leaves, and the thread is popular for 2-3 days, it makes no sense to close.

Also, if say a friend leaves, and you haven't been on HxF for 3 days, but when you go on and see he/she has left, you can't say bye..

But you may have dissapeared completely from the forum in 3 days so it wouldn't matter.

Most people who say they leave actually still go on for the next 3-4 days.

They do post the thread when they leave. Maybe they want to see the replies before they finally leave all together.

I dont understand why the rule is there personally. Didnt think it counted for the leaving section.

From now on introductions that are more than 2-3 days will be closed to stop posts being made to old introductions thus allowing our members to welcome the new ones !

It only says to welcome new members which is for the intro forum.
