    Default Eragon

On December 15, 2006, the movie Eragon is to be released into theaters everywhere. The cast include Ed Speleers, the first-time actor, as the main character Eragon, Jeremy Irons as Brom, Garret Hedlund as Murtagh, and other various characters... The movie is based on the book Eragon, which I have read and I find it to be a very good book.

    Here's the thing:
Judging by the fact that the film is rated PG, I believe there won't be any blood or gore. Will this lessen the movies realistic vibe? I think it may be a bit of a downfall. And there are the rumours that there is not going to be a Teirm, which means there will not be a Jeod. Another downfall of the movie?

I'm wondering what you guys think the movie turn-out will be. I want to go see it already, and I have been wanting to see it for a while, but what do you think? Think it'll be worth seeing?

If I watch this movie I will ruin it for everyone else because I will mock it so. As much as the graphics, explosions, matrix and LOTR crap that will be in it which will make it probs cool, the storyline is the most cheesey, cliche, used storyline I've ever seen.
    Let's see:
A young boy, aged 16 I believe, has been granted skill and power through his ascendants has been conveniently created to master a creature that has no biological or ancestral connection to him, owing to the fact that they're different species. Eventhough the boy, whateverhisnameis has been kindly asked and given choice to use his skill and master his abilities to destroy the evil King/ overlord from empowering the world and his evil reign, the amount of pressure put on him by the entire planet is hardly going to allow him to say "nah, i'd rather not kill da king nd let every1 die init."
The historical side of the storyline says that the dragon riders once kept peace on the land by riding dragons and whatever, who were lovingly part of an 'order.' Eragon, (is that the main character?), I assume will avenge his fellow riders who were probably killed by the King or betrayed the order or something crap like that, and kill everyone in his way. It wouldn't surprise me if Eragon cries "FOR FREEDOM," or something along those lines, not to mention, after watching the trailer, the King says the oh so most original quote ever in the history of evil people. I'll let you see if you can spot that one, it's just after he says, "gather my armies."
I haven't seen the film but I assume there's also some distant village in the middle of some enchanted forest of whom will probably train Eragon during his moment in exile the ways of the dragon rider and something crap like that which includes sparkly things and elves.
ALL IN ALL, and I'm concluding because my lesson is ending, it's a load of rubbish which I'd love to see to obnoxiously shout predictable lines in the cinema just to annoy everyone.

I've read both books, and am eagerly awating the third. I think they're brilliant for a person that was 15 when he started the trilogy.
As much as I want to see this film, I think I'll be let down. As you say, it's a PG, therefore the battles won't be bloody enough, plus none of the characters look like how I pictured them. The only good thing at the moment is how they've put together Saphira, I think she looks great in the film.
I heard rumours that Joss Stone is playing Angela, is those are true, then that means they must go to Teirm, as that's where her shop is, plus Teirm plays a major part in the story.

I saw the advert on a billboard thingy, looks quite good, my parents want to see it (LOL!). Avril Lavigne has a song in it which is really good, and wow she's stunning now.
