Well, I've heard and read about the downloadable games features on the Nintendo Wii. Does anybody know how this works? How do you buy them, and what kind of games will be available? +Rep

You will be able to buy Wii point cards from shops. A Wii point card will cost around £14 in a game shop, and for that you get 2,000 points.
NES games cost 500 points
SNES games cost 800 points
I don't know how much N64 games are, but Super Mario 64 is 1,000 points so i'm assuming they will be around 1,000 - 2,000 points.
I think there are 31 games available at launch, more will be added next year.
You buy the games from the Wii Shop Channel on the console.
The games you can get at launch are:
Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)
Gunstar Heros (Mega Drive)
Bomberman'93 (TurboGrafx-16)
Altered Beast (Mega Drive)
Golden Axe (Mega Drive)
Columns (Mega Drive)
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Mega Drive)
Sonic The Hedgehog (Mega Drive)
Donkey Kong Jr. (NES)
Ristar (Mega Drive)
Donkey Kong (NES)
Space Harrier II (Mega Drive)
F-Zero (SNES)
ToeJam & Earl (Mega Drive)
Baseball (NES)
Ice Hockey (NES)
Mario Bros. (NES)
Pinball (NES)
Soccer (NES)
Solomon's Key (NES)
Tennis (NES)
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
Urban Champion (NES)
Wario's Woods (NES)
Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
SimCity (SNES)
Super Star Soldier (TurboGrafx-16)
Bonk's Adventure (TurboGrafx-16)
Ecco The Dolphin (Mega Drive)
Dungeon Explorer (TurboGrafx-16)
Victory Run (TurboGrafx-16)
I got all the information from my Nintendo magazine, none of it is copied and pasted from the internet.
I think Mega Drive games are also 800 points.

An 800 point game is about £5.![]()
GoldenAxe... I'm liking it.
Hopefully Streets of Rage will be an addition in the future. If that was going to be available at launch, I'd go and preorder my Wii right now.
Oh, and apparently Nintendo are in talks with Activision and Microsoft about Bringing GoldenEye to the Virtual Console.
sounds cool
btw this is slightly of topic but on the 360 does it work in the same way? do u have to buy points to get games? or is there any other way to get points
It works pretty much the same. You can buy points with a credit card or in a you can buy pre-paid cards of 2100 points in stores.
