help with battlefield 1942

Well I go to multiplayer, online (internet) then I press refresh. Tuns of servers come up, I go to one, it was wrong version. do you want to update? I say yes, then it closes the whole thing and EA games comes up but it says something about an error.

If I say no to the update, it just closes and goes to the server lists again.
