    Default Help...... (+rep)

Well at the moment I'm at 6th form[Same as college really] and studying 4 A Levels; Psychology, Business, Law, Philosophy + Ethics and to be honest I'm bored out of my mind. There is no motivation whatsoever and I don't even care about my grades. I'm thinking of quitting at the end of the academic year[after I've taken AS Levels] so I only get half an A Level. I'm only wanting to do this cos I'm bored out of my mind and I want to go and become a trainee chef. I am unsure at the moment, but any advice given will get +rep. Thanks, Craig

I don't know what 6th form is like but I expected that it would be just like school but without the uniform so I went to collage instead, for me currently collage doesn't feel like work we have a laugh and theres little work. This may be that I'm not studying any key subjects, I'm studying about public services army, navy, police etc. And math, english and comms only on mondays.

I'm in year 11, and making choices on which college/sixth form to go to, I done some research and alot of people said that - if the high school you currently go to isnt a sixth form then dont go t oone because everyone who goes to a sixth form will know each other and it will be hard to fit in etc, but with college everyone is same as you, not much people will know there way around etc, so I decided to go to a college instead, still awaiting an interview tho.

I'm at college, and i'm studying pretty much the same as you actually. I know exactly how you feel. Apart from Law, the courses really aren't as good as they're cracked up to be. I've thought of leaving, but then I realised you can't really get anywhere without further qualifications. So, have you thought of taking a different course? You mentioned about being a trainee chef.. perhaps a course in food management or catering? Anything that would help you get into that proffession?

tbh, not many people recognise AS levels as actual qualifications, so think carefully before you decide to leave.
i have nothing else to say tbh, but that ^ is true.

id stick in mate. eventually it will pay off if you work hard, you may not care about your grades now, but if u leave half way thru ur a levels u will regret if in later life if you fail. if you stay on now get through 6th form and do your a levels you will find more oppertunity.
