Need Advice [First Layout Made]

OK, I need advice on what I should make my content box like. This is how i've got so far with my layout:

The background doesn't look very good. Change it to a good gradient, so the dark to light looks better.

Also the buttons don't look very professional, perhaps change the font and the colour?

What type of website is it for? to me, it looks like, for a childs website.

If its for something techy, i agree with the person above, the font is wrong. and background doesnt suite the orange

I'll swap around the gradient, change the text colours and change the triangle to a bar. All colours will be different. :]

Read up on colors and color matching e.t.c
www.hypergurl.com offer a color matching tool.

There is no need to really watermark your work, if you do feel the need however, lower the opacity till you can barely see it, so it looks good and people still cant take your work.

The content box is WAY to big.
Add a footer, and other boxes to add other things in, y'know like, affiliate boxes and sort if thats what you want.

That's not the content box, that's the background. I don't know how I should do the content box and footer etc, that's why i can here. ;p
