Shilpa is just so arresting

BOLLYWOOD film babe Shilpa Shetty faced arrest over “obscene” publicity photos, The Sun can reveal. The film stills of stunner Shilpa and female co-star Reema Sen baring flesh were printed in Indian newspaper Tamil Morass.

Lawyer T. Dakshinamoorthy was outraged and claimed they breached the strict laws governing the representation of women in public.

He said the pictures for the film Auto Shankar presented Shilpa and Reema “posing in an obscene manner”. He alleged the stills violated India’s Indecent Representation of Women Act, and misled youngsters.

Warrants for the arrest of Shilpa, 31, and Reema, 25, were issued when they failed to go to court to answer the April 2006 charges.

The arrest order was stayed in time for them to avoid jail, but Indian sources said the case could be reopened.

Shilpa denied receiving the summons, and insisted the pictures were NOT obscene. She blasted: “Only my stomach is showing and poor Reema is covered from head to toe.

“Gosh! I have never done anything offensive in my life. We’re actors, we’re meant to entertain — but I know where to draw the line and will never cross it.

“They’re calling these pictures obscene? Should we wear burkhas, or what?
“Anybody who’s seen those pictures would know I’d never pose for anything obscene.”
She went on: “It’s not as if the pictures are from a photo-shoot, they are film stills.
