Post As many as five million people are expected to journey to see the Pope's body in Rome

As many as five million people are expected to journey to see the Pope's body in Rome before his funeral on Friday morning.
Each hour, 18,000 people file past the Pope - some have queued for 14 hours.

The process to elect a successor to Pope John Paul II will begin on 18 April, the Vatican has said.

The most important people in the Catholic church will meet in Rome for a meeting called a conclave during which they will vote to choose a new Pope.

Two million people are expected to travel to Italy from Poland, where the Pope was born.

Security in Rome is going to be really tight before the funeral on Friday because lots of world leaders are going to be there.
Planes won't be allowed to fly over Rome during the actual service as an extra security measure.
