big chompy bird hunting

im really stuck with this quest :s

im at the part where you get the bow from rantz or w.e his name is, and you have to hunt a chompy bird.

i put down the toad and moved away from it, but the chompy bird didnt appear :S

can anyone offer any solutions?

btw, yes im sure im putting it in the right place

i was actually using a quest guide at the time, i was following doing things exactly how it was written in the guide.

i cant even remember what i did now either :S
