As we know from other hotels such as .com and .ca, Habbo have been giving out emerald badges to verified habbos. however, when reading the interview Mei Ling did with Dionysus in 2006 on: http://www.habbo.co.uk/entertainment/house/mei , it says:

So habbo have actually had the idea of this badge since last eyar, but nobody seemed to pick up on it.
This looks like we may have to do a quest like .fr have done in the search for mei ling which is about finding the shabbolins and kicking their butt.
will we have to do this to get our badge? - who knows?

Have you thought that this "one final task" it refers to is to actually make sure your email address is validated? Still, I'm going for it, because it's greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.

oh yeah, it just so happens that mei ling speaks of an emerald badge and habbo .com and .ca bring out an emerald badge.
