    Default AOL problems...

I sent an e-mail to AOL telling them how all AOL users (to my knowledge) have a problem getting on habbohotel.co.uk, and I spoke to a Help Advisor at Keyword: Live Help

The advisor, as usual, tried to blame my PC - I hate it when they do that - It clearly isnt my PC as others cant get on habbo either.

So then the advisor said that it is possible that habbo could be blocking AOL users... not necessarily on purpose.

    I also e-mailed Sulake.

I will let you all know as and when I get a response from AOL or Sulake.

Edit: Reply e-mail from AOL further down this thread.

Strange, I've been told that also "Virgin" users are now experiencing the same problem. Yet NTL users and certain other ISP users can get on

I just got this e-mail from AOL:

    Dear Andrew,

I understand from your recent e-mail that you are having difficulties accessing www.habbohotel.co.uk_ (http://www.habbohotel.co.uk).

There are several possible causes for this, so I have provided a number of solutions. Please try checking after each one to see if it resolves your issue. If not, please try the next procedure listed. I suggest you store a copy of this e-mail for future reference.

    A. Web site is busy or down
Web sites may experience heavy traffic or be down for maintenance. Please try accessing the site again. For help accessing the site, please contact the Webmaster of the site.

To e-mail the Webmaster, send e-mail to the e-mail address: Webmaster@servername

For example if the site is on Juno.com, you would send e-mail to the following e-mail address: [email protected]

    B. Run an AOL Auto Fix
Let AOL help you automatically fix many common problems or errors with AOL Auto Fixes. Your AOL software comes bundled with advanced technology to make it easy to repair the most common errors that prevent you from getting the most out of your AOL membership. Just start an Auto Fix to have AOL automatically go through steps to repair your software and optimize your AOL experience.

    1. Go to AOL Keyword: Fix It.
    2. Click PROBLEMS WITH THE AOL WEB BROWSER.
    3. Follow the simple instructions to complete the repairs.

    The Auto Fix will:
    1. Delete the temporary Internet files.
    2. Rebuild the AOL adapter.
    3. Repair the Web browser.

    C. Clear the Web browser cache and uninstall the AOL Adapter
A damaged Web browser cache and/or a damaged AOL Adapter may cause this issue. Windows networking requires that a network adapter exist for any application that must access the Internet. AOL uses the AOL Adapter to access the Internet.

Note: Please make sure that AOL is closed before you follow the steps.

    1. Click START, select ALL PROGRAMS or PROGRAMS, select AMERICA ONLINE, then click AOL SYSTEM INFORMATION.
    2. Click the UTILITIES tab.
    3. Click CLEAR BROWSER CACHE until the Current Cache Size reads 0 KB, then click REBUILD AOL ADAPTER or UNINSTALL AOL ADAPTER.

Note: If Windows displays the message 'The AOL Adapter was successfully uninstalled,' or has already been uninstalled, click OK.

    4. Click CLOSE.
    5. Restart the computer and launch AOL again. The AOL Adapter will be rebuilt automatically.

I hope I have provided a solution that resolves the issue.

If you need additional assistance, you can chat online with a technical support specialist. Please go to AOL Keyword: Live Help. My colleagues there are available 24 hours a day to assist you in a secure, one-on-one session.

And guess what, none of those steps helped.

    Hmm, could be.

The only possible theory I can think of is what I was told earliar by the AOL Advisor "it is possible that the site is blocking AOL users"

But by the looks of things it's blocking BT also.

*tuts* Im sure we will find out soon if and when I get a reply from Sulake.
