Default Brett Lee out of World Cup

His ankle injury sustained in training won't clean up in time and the specialists have told him he has absolutely no chance of playing in next month's event.

The injury is believed to leave him out for 3 months, and he won't even get to training for 6 weeks.

Stuart Clark has been named as a replacement.

Views plz. In my view it will seriously dent Australia's hopes of regaining the World Cup, but as always they'll probably overcome it and romp to victory . Typical Aussies.

Brett Lee and Stuart Clark were the 2 best pace bowlers in the Aussie squad during the ashes, so it's not really much of a change in my opinion..

Here's hoping his ankle gets better soon, he's a decent bowler! (Even if he is an Aussie..)

Clark didn't really get a look in during the ODI series. He says he can use the power plays to his advantage so we'll just have to wait and see on his part.

No; I don't think he's an ODI player myself.

He's another one of Aus's tail batsmen which they train them to be.

That's very true. The amount of times we haven't been able to get rid of someone like Brett Lee of all people when we need to is unbelievable :@. As usual though, England won't win when it really matters, i.e in a big tournament.

Not a big tournament really. Just an ODI series like any other.

I mean things like the World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy.

Obviously those 2 are the biggest ODI competitions in the world - but winning Australia in an ODI series, you know - the best ODI team in the world.

It was a pretty big feat for England to pull that off after such a miserable defeat in the Ashes.
