Default Windows Vista and World of Warcraft

Bare in mind that Vista is currently not a supported operating system for World of Warcraft, so the support that is offered may be limited.

This is only for retail versions of Vista, and not any previous beta clients.

    Video Card Capability list

Here's a nice list of current video hardware and what level of DirectX they are capable of. To run Aero, you will need a DirectX 9 hardware-class card.

By the way, regarding Intel 945 Graphics :

Users in World of Warcraft have reported that it will crash into a black screen. A message saying that the Display driver stopped responding and has recovered will follow. It has been reproduced in-house.

    Performance Tips

    * Try turning off the Windows Sidebar. It may consume system resource that the game can take advantage of.

    * Make sure other tasks are not competing for system resource. Use a utility such as the Windows Task Manager (taskmgr), Windows Performance Manager (perfmon) or Process Explorer (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys...s/default.mspx) to get a deeper look.

    * If you are using multiple monitors and play the game in Windowed mode, try disabling Windows Aero.
