    Default anyone having trouble with PS3 ethernet?

    well i wanted to play my PS2 game but it said it needed an update

    so i had to set pu the ethernet.

    I did all the route junk

    And when it tested the connection it said:

    Failed to obtain IP


    what does this mean? and how can i overcome it.

    This usually only happens with wireless, and with my psp.

    did you use the automatic find thing? try typing it all in manually like I had too do then it will work

    Where do you connect the ethernet cable? I connected mine from my PS3 to my PC, what do I do then?

    doesnt it need to be connected to a router or a modem for you to get an internet connection?

    Ur is the PS2 game working fine with the PS3.. as soem are not compatible and also would you be able 2 play PS2 games online? Try using a PS3 game online if you have it.. It could that u can do the Ps2 game but not the online feature?

    Here is a sort of translation.

    Try using a ps3 game online, if that works then it must be the ps2 game that wont work, I think thats what he ment.

    Anyway, that wont make a difference, what router have you got? If its a belkin one try turning it off and back on, thats what fixes mine.
