    Default Sleeping pattern.

Since I left college, I've started to completely ruin my sleeping pattern, it's like I've become nocturnal. I'll stay up till about 5/6 maybe even 8 in the morning, and I'll sleep all day until about 5/6 in the afternoon, and I really want to get this fixed, so I've started to get people to wake me up around 10/11ish, so that hopefully, i'll get use to it and all this does is make me really tired, and I'll struggle to stay awake, but I'll always be doing something at the time, so I just keep putting it off, and carrying on with whatever I'm doing, and when I've finished, I'm wide awake, so I won't be able to sleep anyway, and I've also noticed, that when I'm wide awake, for some strange reason, the thought of going to bed and sleeping just upsets me, so I don't get to go to sleep till early hours anyway, and I really want to fix this as I'm annoying a few people with it.

So, I've decided twice that I was going to try and just stay awake until 10pm so I would sleep, this means being up over 24 hours, and I struggled and just gave up, and I've only ever been up over 24 hours once before, and that didn't do me any good. I just need some ideas on how to fix it before I stay up for ages and make it worser. +rep to those who help.

So THAT'S why you were doing that! :p

I'd go to your doctor and get some help from them...

I'll try that one hour less each day think, and I'll see how it works out.

    &, yeah, that's why.

But, I'll try what Joxed said, and if I get any other suggestions which fail, I'll try the doctors.

    Thanks guys. +rep.

i had the same problem as you. i used to stay up that late, the latest being 2pm (meaning i stayed up all night till 2pm), and then slept till about 7-8pm. prehaps you should try what i did.

let's say you sleep at 8am, then just get a short nap, till about 11am? you said you're doing that now anyway, so good. then just go out the whole day, go shopping or do something that will make you really tired, like seriously tired. when you go out, you can't really sleep in public, so you don't really have a choice, you have to wake up.

going out in groups help; as they can try to keep you awake. when you return home sleep at around 10pm, and get someone to wake you up early in the morning, around 9ish. it should bring you back into the cycle of sleeping at night instead of day gradually if you sleep at 10 everyday.

    hope this helps.

like other people said try 1 hour each day also make sure your eating a healthy balanced diet and all that jazz because things like that can really affect your sleeping pattern.

If I go in the bath before I go to bed I find it helps me sleep because it relaxes me.

I think if you can't sort it out then you should see a doctor

    Hope this helps
