What's happened to Habbox?

Hey there,

I've just come back to Habbo after a long break to see if much has changed.
I was suprised to see earlier this morning a secure website warning and login box on the habbox.com website.

'The server www.habbox.com at Restricted Area requires a username and password.
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).'

I checked back this evening, and as it is still there I ask, what's happened to the website?

Also, once logged into Habbo I saw a number of people claiming to have been 'scammed by Habbox' and setting up rooms to in which to whine about thier problems.
I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the apparent shut down of Habbox. Could anyone offer an explanation?

habbox was closed while me and sierk discussed who was going to be the owner of habbox, it reopened today after we settled on the fact that i would take over in a few months, the other theory is that it got hacked.

An individual stole passwords and managed to get control of the domain and things, they redirected it to their own host and a large number of people got scammed as their passwords were stolen.
Habbox are back in control of the domain and Management etc are currently attempting to restore Habbox back to it's former glory . I believe it's expected to be back up in the next few days.

No, cause "all these people who got scammed" relied on Habbox too much, what stops a shopowner deciding to sell a throne for 1HC? Will someone go, "OMG YOUR SELLING IT TOO CHEAP SCAMSCAMSCAM"
