Hey, I'm wanting to get some weights as I have had this kind of, "spur" to get fit so I was wondering:
Where's the best place to get them (reliable and best deals)?

    Then following the above:
    Metal weights or dumbbells(sp?)?

I'm leaning to metal cause you can adjust them etc. But yeah...

Well it looks like you are a "beginner" to weightlifting so I'd say dumb-bells just for whilst you learn it all and they usually have some leaflets with the methods/tips! Argos had some pretty good dumb-bells a few years ago, where I got my first set from. They're pretty good and durable but I've now moved onto proper weights!

Yeah, then when I tense them you can play with them if you like.

Anyway, yeah a friend of mine said that he got his from JJB, I'll take a look at their website. +repz.
EDIT: Their website isn't very useful. I'll have to pop into their shop and look next time I'm out shopping.

if you are 10-16 i strongly reccomend do not use anything more than just plain weights nothing more tthan the link you posted

reason pretty obviously that its not good for you during that age because thats the ages when your devoloping the most so stick with them should be fine

I might buy the ones where you use water to control how heavy it is.
