1 - how long does it take to get american citizenship, after you've gotten your green card?

2 - do you need to be a citizen to join the air force, or do you just need your green card?

    1. A green card isn't anything to do with citizenship, it's just a right to work in America. You need to take a citizenship exam to become a citizen.

    2. You need to be a citizen

Hope that helps although I expect it's not the answers you wanted.

you don't need a green card to live there, you only need a visa. Social security number is basically a national insurance card

1 - well, you have to be at least 18 years old, have resided continuously as a lawful permanent resident in the U.S. for at least 5 years, has been physically present in the United States for at least 30 months out of the previous five years (absences of more than six months but less than one year break the continuity of residence unless the applicant can establish that he or she did not abandon his or her residence during such period, and has resided within a state or district for at least three months

2 - You can enlist in the Air Force, as long as you're a legal resident, I believe.

That's not entirely true, considering you're not guaranteed insurance if you're a resident, but you must have a ssn.
