to what extent do you agree or disagree with this?

I myself (being a woman who well, is no longer twenty-one!) agree with this statement fully. Young people today display total disregard for the feelings and situations of others, they are completely self-centered and make no use of the most precious gift they have - youth.
i hope they all die from their alcohol abuse.

1) Youth have always taken advantage of their youthfulness. If doing sports, growing up, learning, and meeting people is "making no use" of their youth, what is?

Ive never got that phrase, how can youth be wasted on the young, The old people also were given youth, if there unhappy now its becuse they wasted there own, they shouldn't be complaining and asking for people who may actualy be useing theres to give it up so they get another shot.

Na, just kidding. Basically, we should take advantage of our youth, for we only have a short period of "youth", before we get older.

People take a bad outlook on youths (teens). Mainly old people think they have knifes and will stab you... a stereotype. Whenever I'm out and about, and an old person is there, they'll cross over. It happens a lot.

When we are young, we want to be older, sometimes. You'd think it's great being 18 or whatever, no school, drive a car etc....

Generally, elder people spend most of there time in doors. They turn on the news everynight and see "Violence in the street caused by teens" or "Gangbash in Labrador, Teenagers involved". They automatically assume we are the worse bunch of people in the world. They don't get out and see the people at school, helping out in the community which generalizes the teenage outlook.
